Abstract

High blood pressure is a common disease in pregnant women and an important cause of maternal and fetal diseases and deaths, but it has been noted that an increase in blood pressure above the normal level in pregnant women has a significant impact on the health of the mother and fetus. In the current study, high blood pressure was studied in pregnant women aged (44-22) years, where (26) samples were collected to compare between the most weeks in which abortions caused by high blood pressure, and this study concluded that the effect of high blood pressure It causes complications for the mother, such as kidney failure, liver disease, and her entry into a case of (Hellp syndrome), which is the most dangerous complication of blood pressure, while the effect of high blood pressure on the fetus is represented in miscarriage, premature birth and low fetal weight. This study found that high blood pressure leads to Fetal malformations as well as miscarriages, as well as a decrease in the body weight of the fetuses, the birth of premature babies and the short period of delivery (premature birth). This study also found that high blood pressure is more dangerous for pregnant women and their fetuses in the first months of pregnancy than the last months of pregnancy.
