Peer Review Policy
Research Review Procedures in the Scientific Journal of the Faculty of Education University of Misurata:
The Journal is committed to following best practices commonly adopted in peer-reviewed scientific journals, while adapting them to align with its editorial policies and academic requirements. The peer-review process aims to ensure the quality, credibility, originality, accuracy, and scientific significance of published research, while providing constructive feedback for improvement.
The process begins with an initial assessment by the Editorial Board to determine whether the manuscript meets the Journal’s general standards. Submissions that do not comply are rejected before proceeding to detailed review. Subsequently, two to three expert reviewers in the relevant field are selected, ensuring that no conflicts of interest exist. The manuscript is sent to them with clear instructions regarding confidentiality and deadlines for submitting their evaluation, using a structured review form.
Reviewers evaluate the main elements of the manuscript, including its originality, methodology, reliability of results, soundness of conclusions, quality of writing, and adherence to the Journal’s guidelines. Based on their assessments, reviewers provide recommendations that may include: acceptance without revision, acceptance with minor revisions, acceptance with major revisions, or rejection. The final decision regarding acceptance or rejection is based on these recommendations, and the author is notified of the outcome along with detailed feedback. If revisions are requested, the manuscript may be resubmitted and could undergo an additional round of review prior to final acceptance.
The Journal adheres to a strict confidentiality policy: the identities of both authors and reviewers remain anonymous to each other, and all information must not be used for any external purpose. Reviewers are expected to provide an objective scholarly evaluation, meet deadlines, respect the confidentiality of the manuscript, and disclose any potential conflicts of interest.
Authors have the right to submit a written appeal in the event of rejection, providing justification for their case. Complaints may be directed to the Editor-in-Chief, who will review them and issue the final decision.
