The phenomenon of political asylum is one of the engines of international politics between the countries of the world in ancient times and modern times. In the second millennium BC there were many cases of political asylum in some areas of the ancient Near East. The diplomacy of the countries of the region varied according to the requirements of their foreign policy, including wars, treaties, alliances, political marriage as well as political asylum. The depth of the political thought of the countries of asylum is reflected in the political asylum countries' containment, the recognition of their legitimacy, their positions and their support, and some countries of asylum have used them as a pressure on their countries for political gains. The study also reviewed the political asylum cases in the second millennium BC, most of which went to ancient Egypt, perhaps due to the political stability of the state stemming from the stability of the succession of the throne.
