Hardly anyone would disagree that poetic or prose texts are among the fertile literary forms that entice critics with their allure. They are filled with aesthetic tools that nourish the reader’s wild imagination. These texts were carried on the shoulders of a number of creative poets who preserved the face of this beautiful art and bequeathed its artistic values to subsequent generations. The importance of dialogue in classical Arabic poetry emerges to dispel the notion of its absolute subjectivity; this is because the most suitable style for expressing ideas in a poem is the dialogic style. Dialogue in poetry differs in nature from dialogue in theater or narrative, yet it is not far from them in terms of function. In poetry—though it may be condensed and concentrated—it carries within it connotations and aesthetic qualities not found in other forms, contributing to the text’s structure through the cohesion among its parts and sections.
