Comparisons and approaches between Uyun al-Akhbar and al-Iqd al-Farid

Abstract

The research aims to compare the two books and to show their similarities and differences. Both are literary selections, while Uyun al-Akhbar preceded al-Iqd al-Farid. Therefore, the spirit of competition between Andalusia and the Arab East was one of the reasons Ibn Abd Rabbih wrote a book that would suffice for the Andalusians and those from the East. Ibn Abd Rabbih benefited from the previous book, such that the two books appeared almost completely similar in their scientific content.
