V-Cycle Method for Solving Elliptic Partial Differential Equations

Abstract

This research presents a numerical study using V-cycle method to solve
elliptic partial differential equations in two dimensions, to speed up the
convergence of the basic iterative methods (Gauss Seidel, SOR) to obtain
accurate numerical results after a few iterations, because in most problems
that contain a large number of equations, reaching an accurate numerical solution requires a lot of iterations, here lies the importance of V-cycle
method, which is to accelerate the convergence of these methods to get the
solution in the least possible time, and with the least number of iterations.
