The study aims to analyze the population changes in the municipal branch of Al-Ghiran during the period from 1973 to 2022, in order to try to understand these changes and the variables affecting them, from studying the evolution of the size of the population in the region and their growth rates, patterns of population composition, geographical distribution and population density, as well as indicating the direction of future changes in the size of the population in it, and the study concluded that the size of the population in the region changed clearly following the improvement of living and health conditions that positively affected the natural increase by increasing birth rates and decreasing Mortality rates, and women's entry into the fields of education and work also contributed to the decline in the population growth rate, which reached during 2012-2022 about 2.7%, and yet it is still one of the high rates, and thus it is expected that the size of the region's population will tend to increase if other factors affecting natural increase and migration are constant, to reach 75,373 people in 2050, despite the population increase in the region, it is still densely populated due to its wide area, as its population is concentrated in the nearby northern part From the city center
