Abstract

The papyrus plant is one of the most important natural plants in ancient Egypt, and it was mentioned in many ancient texts and writings, and perhaps its use as a hieroglyphic mark clearly indicates its importance, especially in writing. It was with the papyrus that a significant amount of the history of the human race was preserved. The invention of writing was a fundamental achievement that helped in the mental and intellectual development of man. This is because this invention led to the documentation of verbal events and their presentation in a new perceptual template, which is the visual template, and here many media were used to transcribe different texts; Religious, literary, economic, political, scientific ... etc. However, the advantages that papyrus characterized by making it superior to all other media; As experiments have proven its effectiveness, which led to the expansion of its use at the hands of the Egyptians and even the Greeks and Romans. there is no doubt that historical and archaeological studies have benefited too muchfrom the information contained in the sound papyrus scrolls that contributed to knowing accurate details about some aspects of ancient Egyptian civilization.
