Metal pollution, one of the types of chemical pollution, is progressively becoming a serious problem and great concern due to the damages and distortions it is causing to the human body. These pollutants are being accumulate in the body, and as a result, they rapidly develop many health problems. Accordingly, the current study aims to determine the levels of some metals including iron, copper, and zinc in three different samples of beet plants using atomic absorption spectrometer (AAS) and to assess these levels based on the internationally permissible limits. Wet digestion method using concentrated hydrochloric acid, dilute nitric acid and hydrogen peroxide solution was carried out for a known weight from each sample after they were dried and crushed. The results showed that the proportions of the three elements were higher than the permissible limit that has been stated by the world health organization (WHO.)
