Media practices are witnessing continuous development and a significant increase in the influence of content creators, who possess a remarkable ability to shape public opinion and direct social behavior, particularly with the widespread use of social media platforms—especially interactive live-streaming services. However, this growing role is often accompanied by negative practices that take on serious dimensions due to impulsivity and the absence of regulatory frameworks (legal and ethical) governing content production. This is reflected in the rise of fake news, misinformation, hate speech, violent and vulgar content, and incitement to chaos, all of which threaten information security and undermine social stability.
This research aims to examine the relationship between the activities of content creators and the spread of misleading information and news, analyzing their impact on social cohesion and stability. It also explores the concept of information security as one of the pillars of national and social security, and reviews the main strategies adopted by media institutions and official bodies to mitigate the risks of digital misinformation.
