The Jarmanites are one of the ancient Libyan tribes that settled in
the south of ancient Libya, in the Wadi Al-Ajal region, and they established a
civilization known as the Jarmah civilization. Its ruins date back to the end of
the second millennium BC, around 1100 BC. It is the oldest building of the
city of Jarmah, in which tombs were found. Archaeological finds and some
collectibles related to agriculture and religious rituals. (Barber, The Pillar of
Heaven, p. 3). The Germans were also famous for agriculture and industry, and they
controlled the trade caravan routes that helped in direct dealing with the
peoples arriving in ancient Libya.
Through this research, reference will be made to the Phoenicians and
their arrival to ancient Libya, then reference will be made to the Garamantes
and their commercial relationship with the incoming peoples, the
Phoenicians, the nature of the commercial relationship, and their control over
the trade routes from the interiors to the coasts.
