Abstract

This study was entitled (Social Media and its Impact on Academic Achievement, WhatsApp as a Model), as it aimed to identify the grades of students in the primary stages from the first primary grades for the year 2024 AD who joined WhatsApp groups in the educational process and the results of previous years who did not join the groups, and to determine which has the best impact on the academic achievement of students in the first primary grades in the subject of reading. Thus, the research hypotheses were as follows: The null hypothesis: The average performance of students before using WhatsApp groups in the educational process is equal to the average of students after using the groups? The alternative hypothesis: The average performance of students before using WhatsApp groups in the educational process is not equal to the average of students after using the groups? Where special models were used that were designed by the students as a tool for collecting data from the community to identify the students’ grades, and the community consisted of (21) schools affiliated with the Education Office of That Al-Ramal, and the research was conducted on a sample of (4 schools), and the study took a period of time extending from (1-6-2024 AD) to (1-6-2024 AD). (30-6-2024 AD), using the descriptive analytical approach followed using the comparative causal method, using the intentional sample and the random sample to collect data from schools, and subsequently reached a set of results, the most important of which are: There are no statistically significant differences due to the use of WhatsApp groups through the result of the test (t) for the group of schools together, there are statistically significant differences due to the use of the WhatsApp group for my two schools (Abu Dharr Al-Ghafari and Al-Nabras), there are no statistically significant differences due to the use of the WhatsApp group for my two schools (Ain Jalut and Al-Qusayr).
