This study explores what is known as the Language of Akalooni al-Baraghīth (literally: “The Fleas Ate Me” construction), an ancient grammatical phenomenon that has long stirred debate among grammarians. Some regarded it as irregular or weak, while others affirmed its validity. However, the abundance of textual evidence indicates its eloquence and authenticity. The research aims to clarify scholars’ perspectives on this phenomenon, distinguish the most compelling and persuasive opinion, and present selected examples that support the phenomenon, reinforce its legitimacy, and highlight its role in enriching grammatical studies
