This study examines the phenomenon of repetition in Al-Manfa (Exile), the poetry collection of Anas Al-Dughaim, as one of the most prominent stylistic features shaping the poetic experience and its rhythmic and semantic structure. The research begins with a theoretical grounding of repetition in classical Arabic rhetoric, drawing on modern critical approaches that extend its function to psychological and existential dimensions, before moving to an applied analysis of selected poetic texts from the collection.
The study adopts a descriptive-analytical approach, analyzing phonetic repetition, lexical repetition, and sentence repetition, and highlighting their semantic, psychological, and aesthetic functions within the poetic text. The findings reveal that repetition in Al-Manfa is not mere linguistic redundancy, but rather a conscious artistic device that deepens meaning, constructs internal rhythm, and expresses the anxiety and fragmentation of the exiled self.
The study concludes that repetition constitutes a fundamental structural element in Al-Dughaim’s poetry, transforming language into an alternative space that embodies memory, longing, pain, and hope, thereby reinforcing the stylistic distinctiveness and artistic value of the collection within contemporary Arabic poetry.
