The political relations of the Karamanli dynasty with the countries of the Maghreb (during the period 1793-1805 AD)

Tripoli witnessed political developments abroad during the period (1793-1805 AD) that had various impacts on the Karamanli dynasty. The major political transformations that took place in the North African region at the beginning of the modern era and the resulting Crusader expansion into the countries of the Maghreb prompted these countries to adopt a policy of forming strong fleets to confront this expansion. We see the results of this clearly during the reign of the Karamanlis and the achievements of the fleet of Tripoli and other fleets of these countries in maritime and commercial activity. This dynasty was characterized by political stability due to its adoption of the step of appointing agents in all neighboring countries of the Maghreb, which was an effective factor in achieving stability. The problem of the study was: What were the political relations of the Karamanli with the countries of the Maghreb, and what were the effects of this on the Tripoli Eyalet? While the study aims to enhance knowledge of the Karamanlian potential to establish a political exchange linking the countries
of the Maghreb with one goal, which is to achieve stability by appointing agents for them in these countries, and receiving their agents, which results in: achieving maritime security, and commercial safety between these countries. This step also resulted in the existence of a kind of political and maritime consolidation and cooperation that unites these countries against enemy countries that began to fear their naval power at that time
