Evaluating the performance of faculty members at ( the College of Education/University of Misrata from )the students’ point of view

This study aimed to identify the evaluation of the performance of
faculty members at the College of Education/University of Misrata from the
students’ point of view. The study used the descriptive analytical method by
constructing a questionnaire to obtain information from the study sample of
(252) students from the College of Education/University of Misrata. The
sample was taken from the study population of (3076), most of whom were
female, according to statistics taken from the college registration office for
the academic year 2022-2023 AD.
In order to reach the results, all necessary statistical operations were used
through the following programs:
The famous statistical program SPSS and Excel 2019, through which the
statistical operations necessary for the study were learned, including:
frequencies, arithmetic means, percentages, and standard deviations.
Correlation coefficients, stability tests, and a t-test to determine the statistical significance of the differences between the means. The study reached the
following results, the most important of which are:
1- The level of students’ evaluation of the performance of faculty members at
the College of Education - Misurata University was high with an agreement
rate of (76%).
2- There are no statistically significant differences at the level of significance
(0.05) between the average responses of the research sample members to all
items of the questionnaire due to the literary/scientific department
(specialization) variable.
3- The level of teaching performance is low in 4 paragraphs that stated the
following:
(Lecturers understand students’ problems and seek to solve them - Lecturers
correct exam papers on time - Lecturers use modern teaching methods and
techniques - Lecturers present extracurricular activities in lectures), and the
researchers recommended that they be addressed by the teaching staff, and
the researchers suggested conducting more research and studies on evaluating
The teaching performance of faculty members in accordance with the
requirements of comprehensive quality in higher education, and conducting
similar research in other colleges to determine the teaching performance of
their faculty members and compare them with other colleges to identify the
reasons for the shortcomings in some and the reasons for the success in
others.
