Ancient Greek Mythology and its role in Philosophy
Abstract
This paper ties to shed light on the impact played by mythology in the emergence of the Greek philosophy, in ancient Greece and Asia Minor, being positive or negative, namely the efficient contribution in building philosophy or the challenge made by mythology to create conceptions based on a system of thoughts that disagree those created by philosophy. The historical framework of this paper covers the period starting from the emergence of Iliad and Odyssey of Homer, through the conceptions of Hesiod to Orphism
