The Degree of Application of the Administrative Staff to the Areas of Lean Management at the University of Khartoum from the Point of View of the Faculty Members

Abstract

<> The research aimed at identifying the degree of application of the administrative staff at the University of Khartoum to the areas of lean management. The researchers used the descriptive approach. A simple random sample was used for (66) faculty members in faculties of (Education, Arts, Economics, Medical Laboratories, Pharmacy, Dentistry). The questionnaire was used for data collection, which consisted of five dimensions: (administrative organization, continuous improvement and development, problem solving, encouraging creativity, susceptibility to change). To analyze the data, the researchers used (SPSS). The research reached to the degree of application of the lean management at the University of Khartoum was medium, where the dimension of organizing administrative work came in the first grade, followed by the susceptibility to change, then the problem solving and continuous improvement and development, while the field of encouragement of creativity came in the last grade. The research recommended that the University of Khartoum should take concern in training the members in practicing the lean management, especially in the areas of encouraging creativity, improvement and continuous development. Besides, identifying the causes of problems that hinder the application of the lean management in the required manner and working to solve them.
