Guarantees of Arab Women's Rights in the Arab Charter on Human Rights (An Analytical Study)

Abstract

This study aims to explore the rights of Arab women by analyzing the legal provisions related to these rights as enshrined in the Arab Charter on Human Rights, which is fundamentally derived from Arab and international conventions. The study seeks to provide recommendations that may contribute to the activation of the Charter's provisions, thereby preserving Arab women's rights and enhancing their role and status within their societies.

The research is driven by a central question: Is there indeed a need for the issuance of the Arab Charter on Human Rights? And to what extent has the Charter advanced and guaranteed the rights of Arab women?

To answer these questions, the study analyzes the relevant legal texts concerning women’s rights, as stipulated in the Arab Charter on Human Rights, while also drawing upon relevant Arab and international agreements. Based on this analysis, the study proposes recommendations aimed at enhancing the implementation of the Charter’s provisions, supporting the protection of Arab women’s rights, and strengthening their position in their respective societies.
