Abstract... Osteoporosis is the most commonly diagnosed bone disease worldwide, resulting in high morbidity and mortality. It is considered one of the greatest health hazards and is thought to be caused by low bone mass. The Bone Mineral Density (BMD)Test, which measures bone fragility, it is a commonly recommended test for evaluating osteoporosis. A special method called dual energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) of the lumbar spine and proximal femur is used to perform this test. Lack of bone mineral density is still a cause of fractures in certain parts of the body, such as the hip and spine. The study aims to assess osteoporosis detection rate in different regions (lumbar spine and proximal femur) and evaluate the relative risk of osteoporosis to identify optimal and predictable fracture sites. DEXA measurements were obtained using a Hologic QDR4500 (A/SL.DELPHI discovery A/SL/W/C) of the 70 post-menopausal women at Masarra Clinic – Tripoli Libya. The BMD of L1–L4 as measured by DEXA ranged from 0.542 to 1.372 g/cm2 (mean:0.86). BMD of the femoral neck as measured by DEXA ranged from 0.328 to 1.083 g/cm2 (mean: 0.74). 30 (42.9%) were found by lumbar PA - DEXA to have osteoporosis with high fracture risk, and femoral neck by DEXA 18 (25.7%) to have osteoporosis with high fracture risk. The intergroup detection rates for DEXA were significantly different, and the lowest BMD were found in the femoral neck. It is evident that the risk of hip fracture can be predicted by reports of femur (neck and hip) region and of spine region determines patient’s response to treatment. Hence, it is recommended by many authors that measuring hip is the better option to assess the fracture risk.
Abstract... Cache memory plays a crucial role in modern computing systems by providing fast access to frequently accessed data. However, the reliability of cache memory is of utmost importance to ensure data integrity and system stability. This paper presents a novel approach called "Self-Checking Cache Memory" that aims to enhance the reliability and error detection capabilities of caching systems. The proposed self-checking mechanism is based on the integration of error detection codes within the cache memory architecture. By incorporating an error detection code, the cache memory can identify and report errors that may occur during data retrieval or storage operations. Berger code are explored and evaluated for its effectiveness in detecting errors. Additionally, the paper introduces a parallel check code generation technique by partitioning the cache memory content into two segments: one for data and the other for check bits. It generates the complement of the check codes for the data in each reading task. This approach enables efficient error detection without compromising the performance of the cache memory system. The VHDL language has been employed to verify the self-checking scheme. The experimental results demonstrate that the self-checking cache memory design outperforms traditional cache memory systems in terms of error detection capability and reliability. The proposed design achieves shorter latency for error detection and requires less area compared to conventional error detection schemes; such as hardware redundancy and time redundancy.
Abstract... This study aims to explore the extent to which the quality of students who enroll in university colleges affects the quality of final outcomes. This study was conducted on graduates of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Misurata, using a random sample of 30% with (516) graduates out of a total number of graduates who reached (1695). Graduate from the beginning of the college’s establishment in the year 2000 until the year 2022.
The study tool was the review of the historical students records of the Faculty of Engineering, Misurata University, which includes all graduate data, which was analyzed using the simple linear regression method (Simple linear regression) and Test of Normality using Microsoft Excel to analyze data that includes three main elements: (secondary percentage, cumulative average, and graduation period.
The results showed that there is a partial effect of the quality of the input (student) on both the cumulative GPA and the duration of graduation, The results indicate that there is a positive relationship between the high school percentage and the cumulative GPA, while there is negative relationship between the high school grade percentage and the duration of graduation.
The results also indicated that the data of the graduate sample is close to being a natural curve, with the presence of some points that led to the emergence of deviations from the straight line representing the natural curve. This is consistent with the results of the relationship between the secondary school percentage, the cumulative GPA, and the duration of graduation.
Finally, the high school percentage is not the only factor that affects the graduate's GPA, as well as the duration of graduation. Therefore, it is a partial factor influencing the performance of university students in engineering colleges.
Abstract... Indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) is one of the most important and physiologically active plant hormones. This study aimed to isolate fungi from the rhizosphere soil of some vegetable crops grown in Al-Sikt region in Misurata city-Libya to determine their ability in producing IAA hormone. Fourteen species of fungi were isolated using the serial dilution method and cultivation on PDA medium. The ability of isolated fungi to produce IAA hormone were tested on YMB media supplemented with 0.1% L-tryptophan as an initiator to stimulate hormone production. The result showed the ability of four isolates (Alternaria sp., Fusarium sp., Trichoderma sp., Rhizopus sp.) on the production of IAA hormone, which was detected by changing the color of the fungal filtrate to pink after adding Salkowski reagent. The results also showed that the highest level of IAA concentration by reading the absorbance of the fungal filtrate at 530 nm using a spectrophotometer was for Trichoderma sp. at a concentration of 10.573 ppm, followed by Rhizopus sp. at a concentration of 9.056 ppm, then Alternaria sp. and Fusarium sp. at a concentration of 5.931 ppm and 3.057 ppm, respectively. Thus, the study showed the role of rhizosphere fungi in enhancing the growth and productivity of agricultural crops through their production of plant hormones, specifically the hormone IAA.
Abstract... This study presents the synthesis and characterization of three copper(II) complexes with the formula [Cu(ASP)2], [Cu(ASP)(PDTC)]and [Cu(ASP)Q] (where, ASP = aspirin, PDTC = pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate, Q = 8-hydroxybenzaldehyde). The complexes were characterized by utilizing FTIR, UV–visible analysis, mass spectra and elemental analysis. The antifungal activity was studied for the free aspirin and its complexes against the fungi Aspergillus Niger. The results showed that the prepared compounds have good activity which decrease in the order Aspirin > [Cu(ASP)2] > [Cu(ASP)(PDTC)]> [Cu(ASP)Q].
Abstract... This paper investigates weather MRW model can be applied for oil-based economies and if it is applicable for time-series data. MRW model was suggested by Mankiw, Romer, and Weil based on the basic formula originated by Robert Solow 1956. MRW argued that human capital plays a major role in modern economies depends on developments that occurred in the developing countries. They arrived at human capital contributing much more to the economic growth instead of neoclassic idea. MRW model had been applied empirically for developing and under-developing countries however, the oil-based economies were excluded and never applied in this context. This study attempts to fill this gap whether this formula offers an appropriate tool to explain the growth in Libyan economy as a case of natural-sourced economies. With data spanning over five decades the GDP is estimated applying both models and FMOL to avoid time-series problems, we found that MRW model is unable to explain the changes in per-capita output while the original model of Solow did. Moreover, the role of human capital is unclear. Result supports the initial suggestion of Mankiw, Romer, and Weil. Meanwhile, as the basic formula with only physical capital does explain the changes while the MRW model does not.
Abstract... This study aimed to examine the impact of human resource skills (behavioral, managerial, and personal skills) on organizational creativity from the perspective of department heads in the faculties of Misurata University. The descriptive analytical method was employed, using a questionnaire as the primary data collection tool. The questionnaire was distributed to the university department heads, with a total study population of 125 respondents. However, only 51 valid questionnaires were obtained for analysis. Through statistical analysis to test the study hypotheses, several conclusions were drawn, including the presence of a statistically significant correlation between human resource skills and organizational creativity, as well as the influence of human resource skills as an independent variable on organizational creativity. The study also provided various recommendations, notably emphasizing the need for university management to focus on human resource skills due to their impact on organizational creativity as a whole.

The study aimed to identify the impact of managerial leadership practices of strategic thinking in its dimensions (systemic thinking, innovative thinking, long-term vision) in enhancing institutional performance. The study used the descriptive analytical method. A simple random sample of (85) leaders from the administrative leadership at the Faisal Islamic Bank was selected. Questionnaire as a tool for collecting information the problem of the study was to measure the impact of administrative leadership practices of strategic thinking in enhancing institutional performance at the Bank of Faisal Islamic. The importance of the study stems from shedding light on the concepts of strategic thinking for administrative leadership and institutional performance, which helps open the way for researchers for further study and analysis to learn about institutional performance and skills. The study reached results, including the presence of variation in the level of strategic thinking for administrative leaders, but all averages in terms of the respondents’ perceptions were high. there is a statistically significant effect of the dimensions of strategic thinking for administrative leadership combined to enhance institutional performance, and it is recommended to work on adopting and developing strategic thinking skills for administrative leadership as a means of enhancing institutional performance and increasing interest in the processes of strategic thinking for leadership at the Faisal Islamic Bank.
Abstract... Consumers' safe handling of eggs and poultry meat can prevent related foodborne diseases. This study aimed to assess the practices of egg and poultry meat safety among Libyan women. The electronic questionnaire was used. Based on survey data, 58% purchased eggs from a supermarket, and most participants (84%) reported that the eggs were displayed at room temperature. Sixty-nine percent of the participants did not eat salads containing eggs or mayonnaise. Only 10% of participants defrosted poultry meat in the refrigerator. Forty-nine percent of participants used a different cutting surface for each type of food. Most participants (82%) washed their hands with soap and water after handling the eggs or raw poultry meat. Fifty-seven percent of the participants washed eggs and poultry meat before cooking them. Only 41% of the participants knew about diseases caused by eggs and poultry meat. In conclusion, egg retailers should be educated about the proper display of eggs. Also, some consumers need to raise their awareness of some improper practices.
Abstract... Cadmium (Cd) compounds are present in the environment as a result of both natural and human processes. Cadmium accumulates significantly in liver tissue, causing liver toxicity and liver dysfunction. Zinc (Zn) is an essential trace element for animal health and biological functions, It plays an important role in alleviating cadmium toxicity by improving liver function. 24 male local quails were used in this study, which was divided into 4 groups: the control group, the group treated with cadmium (0.5 mg/kg), the group treated with zinc (4 mg/kg), and the group treated with zinc and cadmium (4 mg/kg then 0.5 mg/kg, respectively) orally for 28 days. Administration of cadmium, resulted in a decrease in activity was observed, signs of poisoning appeared, and a decrease in average body weights and average relative liver weights. An increase in the effectiveness of liver function enzymes (AST, ALT, and ALP) was also observed, as well as a decrease in the average level of total protein and albumin, while dosed with cadmium. Zinc led to the alleviation of this toxicity, as the results showed an increase in average body weights and average relative liver weights, a decrease in the effectiveness of liver function enzymes (AST, ALT, and ALP), and an increase in the average concentration of total protein and albumin compared to the group treated with cadmium. The results of the study showed that zinc may contribute to reducing hepatotoxicity resulting from cadmium.

Abstract... The Hill cipher is considered the first encryption technology that has some advantages in encrypting data. The aim of this research is to modify the Hill cipher to process letters of the Arabic alphabet. We have proven the success of the Hill encryption on letters of the Arabic alphabet and the research was supported by a number of different examples which were then processed using MATLAB.
